UTPB Quad Master Plan

Built:     Unbuilt

Budget:     Undisclosed

Location:     University of Texas Permian Basin

KDC Associates developed a master plan for the future quad of this fast growing university campus, as well as the new entry for the primary administration and classroom building on site.  The plan incorporates the partial removal of a second story paving structure and the creation of an outdoor entertainment area for large campus and community functions.  Pedestrian traffic pans were highlighted with 10' wide sidewalks illuminate by bollards.  A new carillon tower will overlook the site, as well as monumental scale stainless sculpture of a falcon, which is the campus mascot.  Additional parking lots were added, and a new drop-off point was incorporated into the site.  RWA Architects teamed with KDC Associates to create a dynamic use of a back lit logo and signage on the front entry to the Mesa Building, emphasizing the entrance as the "front door" of the campus.
